Katy VanDeaver Obituary

Evelyn Katy VanDeaver, age 88 of Paris and formerly of Fulbright, died at Stillhouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Funeral Services have been scheduled for Saturday, March 10 at 2:00pm in Faith Baptist Church of Deport with Dr. L.C. Stout officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with Tim Skidmore; Jon Salter; Dru Denison; Michael Pirtle; Michael James; Derick Eguizabal; and Jeff Brown serving as pallbearers. Wood Funeral Homes, of Deport have charge of the arrangements. The Family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the Church on Saturday. Mrs. VanDeaver was born on September 12, 1929 in Fulbright, Texas, the daughter of Aubrey Hurley and Lillie Pearl Ausmus Stevens. She married Clovis VanDeaver on August 25, 1946, he preceded her in death on April 1, 2011. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jay Thomas Salter in 1976, a brother, W.E. Stevens and a sister, Billie Ruth Stevens Pate. Mrs. VanDeaver was a Public-School Teacher, retiring after 30 years of teaching and teaching in Hempstead, Kennard, Roxton and Bogata. She is survived by her 4 daughters: Linda Salter and husband, Garon of Brady, Texas; Lana VanDeaver of Lovelady, Texas; Larann Denison and husband, John of Bogata; Mitzie Pirtle and husband, Gary of Paris; 6 grandchildren: Jon Salter and wife, Monica of Waco; Tiffany Brown and husband, Jeff and Shanna James and husband Michael all of Lovelady; Dru Denison and wife, Kimberly of Meridian, MS; Kimberly Eguizabal and husband, Derick of Mansfield; and Michael Pirtle and wife, Jaclyn of Ponder; 16 great-grandchildren: Myranda Bartley and husband, Kevin, Hailey Miller and Lily Salter all of Waco; Marshall Salter and wife, Briana and Mason Salter all of Abilene; Ty and Jacy Stubblefield, Madelyn and Cody James all of Lovelady; Finley and Fletcher Denison of Meridian, MS; Gabrielle and Kayleigh Eguizabal of Mansfield; Knox, Hudson and Elliot Pirtle of Ponder; 4 great-great-grandchildren: Liam Lenox and Harper Bartley of Waco and Jordyn Check-Webb and Addilyn Satler of Abilene; brother-in-law, Gordon VanDeaver and wife, Phyllis of Pattonville, and sisters-in-law, Bettye Stevens of Arlington and Mary Helen VanDeaver of Clarksville.
