James Kenneth Bambeck of Bogata, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 73 years of age. He was born on August 31, 1946 in Palestine, Texas to James Thomas and Gladys Inez (Bryan) Bambeck.
James honorably served his country in the United States Army, serving in Germany where he built the Hercules Missiles. He was of the Baptist faith and was a jack-of-all-trades, but his most rewarding job was working for Horizon for the Blind.
He is survived by his children, Amanda Howe and husband Darcy of Quitman, Texas, and Scott Bambeck and wife Tracy of Bogata, Texas; grandchildren Jay Delany Bambeck, Stephen Howe, Donny Howe, Erica Renee Edwards, Ariel Jo Christine and husband Luke, Hannah Michelle Dotson and fiancé Mitchell Dyson, and; one great grandchild, Journey Dyson; brothers, William “Billy” Bambeck and Danny Bambeck; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ann Bambeck.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Chambers Day Cemetery in Palestine, Texas. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Wood Funeral Home-Bogata.
