John Lloyd English Sr. was born January 9, 1947 in Deport Texas and slipped into the arms of Jesus June 25, 2019. John was the oldest son of Jess and Opal Davis English. On April 24, 1967 he married the love of his life Carol Williams English. John served in the US Army and was in the 82nd airborne unit serving in Fort Bragg North Carolina. John loved his country and proudly was called to serve in the Vietnam War, in which he was exposed to Agent Orange. John loved life, his family was very important to him, but most of all he loved the Lord. John was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister Catherine Ann
John is survived by his beautiful bride, his children John Lloyd English Jr and wife Faye of Bogata, Jessica Castle and husband Jimmy of Bogata, Lillian Watkins and husband Anthony of Deport, Buddy and Misty McMikel of Paris.
His grandchildren Nikki English, John Lloyd English 3 and Tia English, Dakota and Tyler English, Kayla and Kaleb Carico, Amber and Brad Nevins, Aaron and Nidia Whitney, Chris and Kristen Castle, Andrew and Tamara Castle, Caleb Castle, Kaitlyn and Charles Landers, Wesley Watkins, and Trista and Bobby Spiva, Kelvin Petty.
Great grandchildren Kayden Skaggs, Daniel McDonald, Nicholas Castle, Hunter and Austin McDonald, Brilee and Messer Carico, Zachary Whitney, Addie Castle, Stella and Jayden Nevins, Kyler and Bristol Landers.
His canine companions Lizzie Lee and Peanut English.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, June 28, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Bogata, Texas with Bro. Marc Jones and Bro. Ryan Ballard officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow in Bogata Cemetery, Bogata, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, Bogata, Texas.
