Marye Grant Lynch born January 06, 1920 to Walter Monroe Grant and Minnie Mae Lawler Grant in Deport, Lamar County, Texas. Deceased January 12, 2019 in Austin, Texas at age 99 years and six days.
She graduated Highschool at Deport, Texas and then attended Texas School of Cosmetology. She passed her Texas State Board Exam October 02, 1939.
She married Clarence Gayland Norris June 18, 1942 and they were employed by an Oil Company to draw maps of the new oil fields. They traveled with the geology crew for many years. Mr. Norris passed away 1958 in Lamesa, Texas. Marye then worked as a Hairdresser in Lamesa, Texas and at the Lamesa Hospital. She Married Cecil A. Lynch June 09, 1967 in Dawson County, Texas. They moved to Austin, Texas where she worked as an Inspector for the Texas State Board of Cosmetology until she retired.
Marye was active in the Crestview Community, Al Anon, Eastern Star, and Presbyterian Church of Austin for many years. Cecil Lynch passed away 1989. Marye was a member of the Porcelain Arts Club and exhibited plates she had painted.
She is survived by her Step-Son James T. Lynch and wife Linda. Grandsons John B. Lynch, Blake Lynch, and Mark Lynch.
Step-Daughter Dee Davis, Grandaughters Susan Gorsline and Martha Overby, Grandson Nathan Davis and great-grandchildren Alisha, Kayla, Lindsey, Eric, and Kevin Davis.
She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Minnie Grant, husband Gayland Norris, husband Cecil A. Lynch, step-grandchildren Gordan Davis, and Keith Davis, great-grand-children Jonathan Lynch and Jackson Lynch.
