Roy Owen Marris of Bogata, Tx passed away Wednesday March 14th, 2019 at Stillhouse Rehabilitation.

 Services will be held Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at 1:00pm at Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Bogata, Tx. A Private interment  will be held at Marris Chapel Cemetery in Bogata, Tx.  

Roy was born October 6th, 1922 to Oney P “Dick” & Clara B. Marris in Bogata, TX. He lived in Paris for the past 5 years having moved here from Bogata, TX where he lived for many years. He was an avid farmer and gardner. He retired from the Farmers Home Administration. He was a graduate from Sam Houston University.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Clara Marris: wife of 66 years, Myrle; son, Dwight; Son in Law, Larry McClendon and grandchild John Henry McClendon. Also, brothers Jess and Rass (William) and sisters Oleta, Robbie Nell and Billie Mac.

He is survived by son, Dicky Marris and wife Liz of Jasper, Tx, and daughter Donna McClendon of Pampa Tx: five grandchildren, Melaney Dickerson and husband Jamie of Jasper, and Natalie Payne and husband Russell of Huntsville, Ike McClendon and wife Kimberly of Canadian, Troy McClendon and wife Lacee of Pampa, and Jeffery Marris of Clarksville, Nine great grandchildren and brother John Paul and wife Pat. And several of nieces and nephews.

The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to Marris chapel cemetery association or Alzheimer’s Association.

Services are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home in Bogata, Texas.
