July 25, 2019--January 28, 2021

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our sweet Alexander James Whitaker after an 18 month battle with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Alex was born on July 25, 2019, to Kyle and Sara Whitaker. Alex loved playing with musical toys and his big sister, Katherine. Alex fought through multiple surgeries and was still a very happy baby.

Alex was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James L Whitaker and James A Fredrich and an aunt, Abbi Fredrich. He is survived by his parents, Kyle and Sara; sister, Katherine; grandmothers, Connie Fredrich of Ruidoso, NM and Karen K Whitaker of Arlington, TX; great-grandmothers Karen Strain Whitaker of Bogata and Margie Sparrow of Parker, CO and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Children’s Medical Center for the love and care they have provided.

A memorial will be planned at a later date.
