Alice Martin

Mrs Alice M Martin, age 83 of Bogata died Wed May 2 in Paris. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday May 4 at Cuthand Methodist Church with Rev Billy Daniels and Rev John Purviance officiating. Burial will be in Cuthand Cemetery under direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 10-11 am Friday at the church. Mrs Martin was born Dec 21,1928 in Cuthand the daughter of Arthur Marion and Ida Mae Mauldin She married Joe M Martin Oct 11,1947 in Clarksville. He preceded her in death Aug 8,1994. She was an accomplished seamstress and tailor and worked for several years at Stoneville Furniture in Clarksville, Lee Factory in Sulphur Springs and Bogata Sewing factory. She worked several years from her home doing sewing and tailor work for the public She was a member of Bogata Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by five daughters Mary Jo Whatley Rhodes and Dale, Nancy Puckett and Jimmy, and Ellen Hanna all of Bogata, Lessa Mankins and Neil of Detroit, and Sue Ann Bennett and Ronny of Longview three sons Dewayne Martin and Nancy, and Dennis Martin and Janice of Bogata and James Martin and Misty of Mt Vernon nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, one sister Annie Lee Moore of Honey Grove and a number of nieces and nephews online condolences may be made to woodfuneralhomes. com
