Annette Skaggs Obituary

It is with both sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Annette Skaggs, who departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on August 29, 2025. She was born Shirley Annette Williams on July 8, 1944, in Cuthand, Texas, Annette lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Shirley filled the world with her vibrant spirit and loving heart for over 81 wonderful years. A cherished resident of Bogata, TX, she was a beacon of kindness and strength in her community and to all who knew her.

Annette was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother leaving behind her husband Charles Skaggs, her daughters, Anita Crocker and Sherry Pullen, and her devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie and Kim Skaggs, as well as Roy and Lane Skaggs. Each of her children carries forward her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience, reflecting the incredible woman she was. Annette was blessed with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  She also leaves her siblings, Herschel Mac and Helen Williams, Joyce Tolison, Coletta McMikel, and sister-in-law, Betty Williams. She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Teresa Elder, siblings, Bobby Williams and Carol and John English.   She found joy in her family and embraced every moment spent with them, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

Annette worked side by side with Charles at Skaggs Auto in Bogata, a family-owned business that allowed them to be inseparable. She and Charles are the epitome of a true love story.

A visitation will be held to honor Annette’s life and legacy on August 31, 2025, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wood-Haggard Funeral Home, where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the incredible woman she was. Funeral services will be Monday, September 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Fulbright Church of Christ, with interment to follow at the Bogata Cemetery, as we come together to remember the warmth, kindness, and strength she brought to each of us.

As we remember Annette, let us celebrate her life, the laughter she brought, and the countless lives she touched. She may have departed from this realm, but her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
