Betty Jo Rodgers, a devoted homemaker and active member of her community, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born on August 15, 1933, in Fulbright, Texas, to her late parents. Betty resided in Deport, Texas, where she was surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was a woman of unwavering faith and held a deep belief in the power of community. She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Deport, finding solace and strength in her devotion. Betty was always willing to lend a helping hand in her community and cherished the bonds she formed with her neighbors and friends.
As a member of the Detroit Lions Club and an advocate for the Food Bank in Deport, Betty exhibited her compassion for those in need. She selflessly dedicated her time and efforts to these causes, leaving a lasting impact on those she served.
Family was paramount to Betty's life. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Melissa, and son-in-law Kenneth Hollowell, as well as her son Monte and daughter-in-law Stephanie Rodgers. Betty's grandchildren, Melissa Rodgers, Emily Arriaga, and Katie Arriaga, brought immense joy to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her precious great-grandchildren. 2 Step-grandchildren, Katie Ray and Olivia Smith.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rodgers, and her beloved daughter, Paula Kay Rodgers. She also leaves behind cherished memories of her four brothers and four sisters, who have gone before her. Their memories will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her.
Betty's warm smile, caring nature, and tireless dedication to those around her will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She embodied kindness and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
A memorial service to honor Betty's life will be held at Wood Haggard Funeral home in Deport, Texas, on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Friends and family will gather together to pay their respects, sharing stories, and celebrating the cherished memories she leaves behind.
Betty Jo Rodgers will forever be remembered for her loving spirit, unwavering faith, and selflessness. Her legacy of compassion and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
