Billy Joe Cannon, who left us peacefully on February 8, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on August 18, 1938, in Deport, Texas, Billy lived a simple yet fulfilling life dedicated to agriculture and filled with hard work at Musgrove Farms.
Billy Joe was not just a farmer; he was a man who found joy in the little things, from the feel of rich soil between his fingers to the quiet mornings spent tending to the land. His wisdom and kindness showed through everything he did.
Billy is survived by his loving nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the memories they shared. Billy was preceded in death by: his parents, J.A. and Margaret (Keer) Cannon, brothers, James and John Cannon, sisters, Doshie Jones, Myrtle Smith, Dorothy Hensley, and Gladys Poole.
A funeral service to honor Billy will be held on February 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Wood-Haggard Funeral Home in Bogata. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate his life and the impact he had on all who knew him. Burial will take place at the Rockford Cemetery in Lamar County, Texas.
In our sorrow, we find comfort in the love shared and the stories that will continue to be told about Billy Joe Cannon. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
