Clara Thompson Stalls

Clara Thompson Stalls of Deport, Texas passed away December 8, 2019 at 101 years of age.  She was born October 16, 1918, to A.L. and Euna (Thompson) Stalls in Deport, Texas which was named after her grandfather, Dee Thompson. Miss Stalls graduated from Deport High School in 1935 and later attended Metropolitan Business College in Dallas, Texas. She retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in 1983 after almost 42 years of service.  She moved back to Deport in 1996 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Deport.  In June of 2018 she moved to the home place in Paris, Texas.

Leaving to cherish her memory are her nieces, Judy Dietert and her husband Scott of Richland, Washington, Ann Stansbury and her husband Gary of Sheridan, Wyoming, Lisa Stalls of Aurora Colorado; great nephews, Pat Herring and his wife, Cindy of Frisco, Texas, Mike Herring and his wife Patricia of Flower Mound; great nieces, Sarah Ruybal of Sheridan, Wyoming, Pam Donaldson and her husband, Robert of Redmond, Washington; great-great-niece, Jessie Herring; great-great-nephews, Jake Herring, Jesse Michael Herring and Ryan Donaldson. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mattie Ruth McSkimming and Evelyn Stalls; brothers, Jess Stalls and Troy Stalls; sister-in-law, Illamae Stalls; niece, Beverly Herring; great-niece, Krista Dietert, Tracy Kropp; cousin, Frank Welch.

Funeral services for Miss Clara will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church of Deport. Interment follow at the Highland Cemetery in Deport. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

The Family request that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Deport or to the Highland Cemetery.
