Dan Moody Cotten
Obituary
Dan M. Cotten passed away peacefully on August 29, 2022, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He was born on May 4, 1927, in Johntown, Texas to William A. and Willie Mae (Brown) Cotten.
Dan married the love of his life, Mary K. Davis. To that union three children were born, Larry, Danny and Lisa. Dan was employed by Mobil Oil where he worked fulfilling many job duties. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Bogata.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his three children and their spouses; Larry and Carolyn Cotten of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Danny and Carla Cotten of Eagle Mountain, Utah, and Lisa and Rick Graham of Midland, Texas; 14 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 52 great- grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren; 11 great-great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of over 70 years, Mary Katherine; his brothers, Charles W. Cotten and James L. Cotton; and by his sisters, Pocahantis Whitby and Joann Stansbury.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2022, at the Bridges Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Wood-Haggard Funeral Home – Bogata.
