Dennis D. Brown, age 74, formerly of Clarksville, known to most as Coach Brown, passed away on October 24, 2011 as a result of a traffic accident on the bridge joining Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Born in Bache, Oklahoma, he was the 9th of 11 children or Harlin and Sallie (Roden) Brown. He graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University,an outstanding athlete and ready to take on the world. He lives behind grieving family members and many friends all over the world. After many years spent in the teaching and coaching profession, Coach Brown began a 30 year journey in Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. In 1974, employed by E-Systems of Greenville, Texas, he was Recreational Director for SFM-Sinai Field Mission, an American Peace Treaty signed between those nations. The later years in Israel were spent in the Tel-Aviv Headquarters Office. Always eager for adventure, he was hired by General Dynamics for logistical support, providing tanks and training for the Egyptian Army. At the time of his death, he was employed by Saudi Aramco Oil Company in Saudi Arabia. He was instrumental in the construction of a new Sports Center, one of his proudest accomplishments. He leaves behind many co-workers and good friends there, as he did all over the world. Coach Brown was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan and loved his home state of Oklahoma. He will be remembered as a generous man who worked hard to accomplish his goals and who always offered help to anyone in need. Those wishing to honor his memory are asked to donate to the Clarksville Education Foundation Scholarship Fund-earmark for a CVL Athletic Scholarship.
