It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Derrell Gene Stewart, aged 78, of Bogata, Texas, who left us on November 19, 2025. Born on August 26, 1947, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, Derrell embodied a spirit of perseverance and love throughout his life.
Raised in a humble yet nurturing environment, Derrell became a skilled machinist, dedicating many years to the steel industry. His unwavering work ethic was matched only by his devotion to his family. A loving husband for 47 years, Derrell shared a profound bond with his beloved wife, Regina. Together, they cultivated a life filled with laughter, love, and shared dreams.
Derrell was a proud father to his children: Shannon and Bobby Brewer of Wills Point, Texas, Aimee Adrian-Chaisson of Plano, Texas, Todd Clark of Bogata, Texas, Michael "Mickey" and Kristy Clark of Garland, Texas, and Kim "Kermit" Stewart of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Taelor, Austen, Dakota, Micaela, Eli, Gage, Jacob, Bryceson, Michael Scott, Courtney and Trenton; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephew Derrell was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles and Hester Stewart, his bothers Melvin, Gabby, Billy and Joe Stewart. His family was his greatest treasure, and he took immense joy in their accomplishments and milestones. He also shared a special relationship with his faithful dog, Biscuit, who brought him endless joy and companionship.
Derrell was known for his simple yet profound outlook on life, often sharing his favorite quote, "I just ride a bicycle." This sentiment encapsulated his love for the little things and his ability to find joy in the journey. He was a simple man that loved his family, food and laughter.
His warm smile and kind heart will be immensely missed by all who knew him. The love and memories he leaves behind will continue to resonate within the lives he touched.
Ceremonies to celebrate his remarkable life will held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to reminisce and honor a man who lived life with purpose and love.
Rest in peace, Derrell. Your legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of your family and friends.
