Mr. Donald Ray O'Donnell, age 74 of Bogata died Saturday Sept 15, 2012 in St Michael Hospital in Texarkana. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 19 in Bogata United Methodist Church with Rev Bob Bush and Rev Carol Sparks officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Bogata Cemetery under direction of Wood Funeral Home. Mr. O'Donnell will be escorted to the cemetery by the Patriot Guard Riders of Northeast Texas. Mr. O'Donnell was born Oct 2, 1937 in Maple Community the son of Hugh (Bill) and Emma Moore O'Donnell. He was a retired Air Force Officer serving 29 years with service in both the Korean and Viet Nam Conflicts. He was former Post Commander of Bogata VFW Post # 818, was a former member of Bogata City Council and worked for several years in England with disabled orphans, by being a member of the Royal British Legion of England. He is survived by his wife Vivienne whom he married Oct 2, 1977 two daughters Donna Thomason of Illinois and Kim Gillet of South Africa six grandchildren Nikki, Robyn , Ceri Ann, Reed, , Amber, and Jennifer Six great grandchildren, a brother Billy (Dusty) O'Donnell of Bakersville California and two sisters Reba Redfearn and Betty Kelsoe both of Oregon. He was preceded in death by a son Ronald Lee O'Donnell April 18, 1997; brother and sisters, Pete, Wesley, Gordon, and Gaston O'Donnell, and a sister, Thelma Fitzgerald.
