Doney Janett Weddle Chafin, age 85 of Paris and formerly of Deport died October 6, 2011 in Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services have been scheduled for 4pm Sunday Oct 9 at Wood Funeral Homes Chapel in Deport. Burial will follow in Morris Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of Cassie and Don Betenbough in Paris. She was born in Red River County on December 3, 1925, the daughter of Twyman and Myrtle Ann Tippit Baker she married Bennie Franklin Weddle Dec 22, 1943. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1979. In 1987 she married Charles David Chafin who died in 2009. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Chris, Bennie Mac and Morris "Boo" Weddle and a granddaughter Hannah Corrine Weddle, and a brother Trice Delbert Baker. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Cassie Betenbough and husband Don of Paris; Kay Peek and husband Butch of Avery. Dan Weddle of Fulbright and Randy Weddle of Deport; a daughter in law Jean Weddle of Paris, a stepdaughter Carletta Wheeler of Paris, a brother, Carl Jean Baker and wife Gertrude of Fulbright; 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren . She spent her life raising her children and working on their farm alongside her husband. In later years they moved to Deport and she started working at Deport Nursing Home where she worked for many years until her retirement.
