Mrs Elma Whitener Chaloner, age 100 of Rosalie died Sunday Nov 11,2012 in Clarksville Nursing Center Funeral services will be 11:30 am Tues Nov 13 in Bogata United Methodist Church with Rev Carol Sparks , Rev John Purviance, and Frank Stubblefield officiating, Burial will be in Smith Cemetery at Rosalie under direction of Wood Funeral Homes of Bogata. The family will receive friends 6-7 pm Monday at the church Mrs. Chaloner was born Sept 23, 1912 in Post Oak community near Detroit Texas She married Eldon Chaloner Jan 15, 1942 in Detroit. He preceded her in death Sept 14, 2003 She was also preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Grady, Marshall and Billy Wayne Whitener and one sister Jeanetta Whitener Raney Mrs. Chaloner was a retired educator. She graduated from Detroit High School and received both her Batchelor of Arts and Masters of Education degrees from East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce. She taught school for over 34 years teaching in Blatney, Cross Roads, Fulbright, Bogata and Talco Schools. She was a longtime member of Texas State Teachers Association and Bogata United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son Jim Bill Chaloner and his wife Denise of Rosalie, three grandchildren Misty and Micah Chaloner and Mallory Lindsey and husband Mark and six great grandchildren Tristen,Maylee ,Emery,Landon, Lexi and Layna very special friends Bonnie Ruth Huddleston and Billie Ruth Taylor and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins Pallbearers will be Travis and Bruce Raney, Kyle and Kevin Taylor, Mike Boyd, Norman Farris and Jimmy Trapp
