Evelyn Belcher Obituary

 

Evelyn Belcher of Talco, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020 while surrounded by her family.  She was born in Omaha, Texas on April 28, 1936 to Charles Samuel and Velmer (Hodge) Johnson.

Evelyn was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Talco.

Left to cherish their mother’s memory are, Daniel F. and Lisa Belcher of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Lisa and Randy Guth of Talco, Texas and Greg Belcher of New Boston, Texas; grandchildren, Tracey and Lexee Belcher, Adam Belcher, Casey Belcher, Stevie and Cody Hodges, Rachel Belcher and Tanner Guth; great grandchildren, Madeline Belcher, Piper Belcher and Wesley Hodges; brothers, Edward Johnson, Houston Johnson and Bill Johnson and a sister, Velma “Blond” Smith.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert Felton Belcher, siblings, J.D. Johnson, Isaac Johnson, Mary Love, Nancy Brooks and Gerald “Cotton” Johnson.

Due to the need to avoid large group gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak, the family has requested at the visitation that all guests consider this as a come and go event. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday evening at the Wood~Haggard Funeral Home in Bogata. Private burial will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Cuthand Cemetery. A Memorial will be held on April 28, 2020.
