Faye Gene Fox, "Gene", was born in Oklahoma and raised in Clarksville, Texas. She was known for her gardening skills. Roses were her favorite. She was recognized on many occasions of having the "Yard of the Month" wherever she lived. Gardening was where she found her peace and where she walked with her Lord.
Gene was active in church throughout her life. She loved to volunteer. She was once the American Cancer Society Volunteer of the Year in El Paso, Texas after she survived her own breast cancer. Her passion was for children, thus she became PTA president and also a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She was a foster parent.
Gene was an expert seamstress having been taught by her grandmother. She sewed for herself and for others, and made her daughter's wedding gown and many outfits for her two grandchildren. But most of all, Gene was known as a wife, mother and grandmother. She married Newton Harrison Bowman, Jr, a widower, and adopted his young song, Newton Harrison Bowman, III. (Harry). She often referred to Newton Bowman, Jr. as the "love of her life". They also adopted their daughter, Cassandra (Sandy). Newton Bowman, Jr. passed away shortly after the adoption of Cassandra.
Gene later met Nelson Fox, they married and together raised Harry and Sandy. Nelson passed away in 1989 and after the death of her son, Harry, she moved to Marble Falls, Texas to be near Sandy and her grandchildren, Gabrielle and Krysta. Being a grandmother meant the world to her. She was involved in their lives from an early age and influenced Gabrielle and Krysta a great deal into becoming the women they are today.
Faye Gene Fox is survived by her daughter, Sandy Doyal, of Burnet, Texas; her grand-daughters, Gabrielle from Hondo, Texas and Krysta from Killeen, Texas; four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Billie Capps and Ruth Murray.
She was preceded in death by Newton Harrison Bowman, Jr (husband), Nelson S. Fox, (husband), Newton Harrison Bowman, III (son), Mother Dovie Cutler.
