With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Glen Babb, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who peacefully passed away on November 10, 2023. Glen, aged 84, departed this world after a life well-lived, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was born on January 19, 1939, in Red River County, Texas to his parents, C.L. and Thelma (Thommarson) Babb. He grew up alongside his three sisters, Doris Cannon, Peggy Cannon and Sandra Burns, building a lifelong bond that would remain unbreakable.
Glen's life was defined by humility, kindness, and a deep spirituality. He was a faithful member and musician of Lake Chapel for many years. His commitment to work was evident in his 35 years at Campbell Soup, which was followed by time delivering medicine for CVS before retiring.
Aside from his dedication to his family and church, Glen found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for nature and spent many enjoyable hours in outdoor activities, whether it be as a gardener or a hunter.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved daughters, Rhonda Myrick of Mount Vernon, Texas, and Michelle Babb of Bogata, Texas, along with his cherished grandchildren, Jared Myrick (wife Vicki) of Anchorage, Alaska and Jarae Myrick of Mount Vernon, Texas. Glen's presence will be greatly missed by his sisters, Peggy Cannon and Sandra Burns, as well as his adored great-grandchildren, Reagenn, Jackson, Quincee, Grant, and Harrison Myrick, his friend and brother-in-law, Rob Cannon, and numerous special cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Shirley, and his sister Doris Cannon.
In his remembrance, funeral services and ceremonies will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 2:00pm at Lake Chapel. There will be a visitation for family and friends Monday, November 13, 2023, at Wood-Haggard Funeral Chapel in Bogata, Texas from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
