On Friday, September 23, 2022, Gwennell Ladawn (Bollinger) Hood entered Heaven the way she lived her life: with courage, dignity, grace, and faith. She left this world in her beloved home encircled by her loving family.
Gwen was born in Oklahoma City on April 22, 1963. From that day forward, she brought nothing but joy, love, happiness, and sunshine into our lives and the lives of all who knew her.
She spent her life in ministry and service to others through music, counseling, prayer, and countless other ways.. For over forty years in five states, she served alongside her husband in pastoral ministry.
Left forever cherishing her memory, her husband, Gerald; her beloved children, Sarah and J.A. Thomas of Merced, California, Josh and Alicia Hood of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Anna Belle Hood, and Kate Hood, both of Mount Vernon, Texas; her treasured grandchildren, Jude, Sophia, Justus, Adelaide, Timothy, Savannah, Jadon, David, and Levi; brothers, Greg (Leslie) Bollinger of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Derrin (Shayna) Bollinger of Blanchard, Oklahoma; and sister, Davalynn (Al) Reinker of Elyria, Ohio.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Frelin Bollinger, Janie Belle (Parks) Bollinger, and Lois (Bollinger) Clark.
Just as the heavens continue to glow well after the sun sinks below the horizon, the sky in our worlds will remain luminous long after her departure. She leaves behind much of herself.
Reflect with us as we remember Gwen and what she meant to so many people. Rejoice with us as we envision her joy when she met her Lord face to face. And pledge with us to live our lives in such a way that we will one day have the opportunity to see her again in Heaven and share in the riches our Lord has for all of His faithful servants.
