Ima Jean Lindsey went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 18, 2021. She lived on this earth for 92 years before being welcomed into eternal rest. She was born on May 30, 1929, in the community of Galena, in VanZant County, Texas one of seven children born to William Madison and Ruby Lee (Smith) Moore.
Ima Jean was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Bogata, Texas, where she loved attending services and Sunday School.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her four children, John and Janie Lindsey of Bogata, Texas, Carolyn and James Jackson of Gilmer, Texas, Barbara Bayley, and Joseph and Kelly Lindsey all of Bogata, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Peggy Coffman of Forney, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Allen Lindsey; brothers, Kilborn and Bobby Moore; sisters, Annie Lou Baker, Helen Barnett, and Minnie Bell Borders.
The family will receive friends Friday evening October 22, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, at Wood-Haggard Funeral Home in Bogata. Funeral services for Ima Jean will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 23, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Bogata, Texas with Bro. Jeff Duvall officiating. Interment will follow at the Bogata Cemetery under the careful direction of Wood-Haggard Funeral Home.
