James Gaddis

Mr. James H Gaddis, age 77 of Bogata died Tues May 15 in East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Funeral services will be 2pm Friday May 18 at First Baptist Church in Bogata with Dr. Charles Ashby officiating assisted be Rev John Purviance.. Masonic Honors will be bestowed immediately following the service. Burial will be in Cuthand Cemetery with full military honors. Services are under direction of Wood Funeral Homes of Bogata. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Mr. Gaddis was born Jan 11, 1935 in Titus County near Talco, the son of John and Estelle Parham Gaddis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married the former Clara McConnell Oct 11, 1961 in Bogata. He retired from Texas Power and Light Company after over 30 years of service. He also worked for the Red River County Sheriff Department as a work crew supervisor after his retirement. He was a 50 year active member of the masonic lodge and at the time of his death was a member of Rosalie Lodge # 527 AF and AM He is survived by his wife Clara Gaddis of Bogata, his children LaQuita Brown and friend Craig Bishop and Donnie Gentry and wife Tina of Bogata and Timothy Gentry and wife Beth of Clarksville, two sisters Sue Shumate of Mt Pleasant and Barbara Dillman of Omaha Texas seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
