James Randell Gibbs

James Randell Gibbs, affectionally known as “Randy” of Reno, Texas and formally of Bogata, Texas passed away Sunday evening May 15, 2022, at his residence.  He was born in Prague, Oklahoma on November 2, 1954, the son of James Ell and Sarah Pauline (Raines) Gibbs.

Randy was a retired Rig Supervisor and worked all his life in the Oil Fields.  He was a quiet and simple man who loved his family deeply.  He will be greatly missed by many family members and close friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Barbara; three sons, Shane R. Gibbs of Bogata, Texas, Shannon D. and his wife, Allison Gibbs of Marshall, Texas, and Sonny D. and his wife Lauren Gibbs of Tyler, Texas; step-children, Pam McGuire of Rockwall, Texas, Lisa Bills of Paris, Texas and Johnny McGuire of Cooper, Texas; his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Allyson and Colby Chitsey of Mount Vernon, Texas, Leah Gibbs of Blossom, Texas, Jake Gibbs, Caroline Gibbs both of Tyler, Texas, Collin McGuire, Jaxon McGuire both of Cooper, Texas, Bailie English of Paris, Texas, Faith McGuire of Cooper, Texas, and Addison Hadis of Rockwall, Texas; one great grandchild, Ian Chitsey of Mount Vernon, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Jana and James Watkins of Bogata, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Timothy Ell and Russell Mark Gibbs.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Smith Cemetery in the Rosalie Community east of Bogata.  Bro. Jeff Duvall will officiate.
