It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of James A Watts on November 24, 2023. Born on November 11, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas, James was called to his eternal rest at his home in Bogata, Texas. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.

James was a remarkable man, known for his unwavering faith in God and his devotion to his family. As a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Bogata, he found great solace and purpose in his spiritual journey. His profound love for the Lord was evident in his every action and served as an inspiration to all who knew him.

After graduating high school with a diploma in hand, James embarked on a successful career in the construction industry. Throughout his career, James held various positions such as Foreman, Business Agent, and even had the privilege of serving as an Apprentice School Educator. His dedication and expertise led him to his final role as Line Director of the Carpenters and Millwright Apprenticeship School in Arlington, Texas.

Although James's career was fulfilling, his heart belonged to his family, whom he cherished beyond measure. He leaves behind his beloved spouse, Betty Sue Watts, who stood by his side through thick and thin, supporting him with unwavering love and devotion. James was also a loving and proud father to his two sons, James Alan Watts and his fiance' Branda Watkins and Jason Edward Watts and his wife Debbie, and his daughter, Dani Brown Morris. He found immense joy in the presence of his precious grandchildren, James Andrew Watts and his wife Kimberleigh, Garrett Easton Watts, Grady James Morris, Sidney Kate Morris, and Jesse Chad Morris. Their laughter and love brightened his days, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
