Mrs. Zoe Juavanee Carpenter, age 81 of Deport died on October 22, 2011 in Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services have been scheduled for 12:00 pm on Tuesday, October 25 in the First United Methodist Church of Deport with the Reverend Debra May Officiating. Burial will follow in Bogata Cemetery. Wood Funeral Homes have charge of the arrangements. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jerry Hutson, Mike Ward, Bobby Morris, Mark Morris, Jim Patterson, and Kenneth Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Stanley, Allen Kilgore, Eddie Sheppard, Chris Chipman, Ryan Murphy, and Bill Utterback. The family will receive friends at their home in Deport on Monday from 2-8pm. She was born October 4, 1930 in Halesboro, Texas, the only child of Veo [Pete] and Oma Lea DayDaniell. Mrs. Carpenter grew up in Deport and married James Carpenter November 10, 1951 in at the First United Methodist Church in Deport where she has been a member all of her life and held numerous offices including, Outreach Coordinator, Financial Secretary, and Treasurer. Mrs. Carpenter was a Legal Secretary, working for Penland Distributors, The Hartnett Firm, and retiring from Bonneau Company. After she and James moved back to Deport, she worked for the Deport Housing Authority for several years. She was a member of the DAR and the Red River County Geneological Society Preceding her in death was her son, Kyle Daniell Carpenter on January 23, 2011. Survivors are her Husband, James of Deport; daughter, Karen LeCour and son-in-law, James and grandsons, Logan and Hayden all of Farmers Branch; her "sister by choice" , Ruth Chipman and husband, Bill of Deport; Cousins in this area include Lindsey and Ina Ward of Bogata; Doris Murphy of Deport, Kay and Chuck Chance and Barbara Patterson of Paris and many others in the Dallas area.
