Jerry Wayne Jones, 78, of Bogata, TX, passed away on Saturday March 28, 2020 at his home and entered the gates of Heaven.  Jerry was born on December 18, 1941 in Texarkana, Texas to Bill and Frances (Cone) Jones.  He married June Jones in June of 1979.  They are longtime residents of Bogata, Texas.

He has built swimming pools since 1961. He managed to become one of the top swimming pool experts in the surrounding areas and accomplished amazing work that is still standing in the Dallas area. From waterfalls to beautifully landscaped in-ground pools, there was not a project he couldn’t perfect.  Mr. Jones continued creating, constructing, maintaining and taking care of every aspect of his company until the day The Good Lord saw he needed to rest.  He was the type of businessman that would answer a phone call in the middle of the night if a customer needed anything at all.  His dedication was admirable.

His family was his pride and joy, his motivation, his everything.  He was also the Dallas Cowboys number one fan.  Win or lose, he loved his Cowboys.

Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bogata.  He loved his church family the same as his own.  He was always one of the first to be at the church on Sunday morning to ensure there was fresh coffee for all. He always stopped for donuts on his way for the children.  He was the most kind and generous soul, never expecting praise or reward.

Jerry loved all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of his heart, but he shared a special bond with his granddaughter Harley that will never be broken.  He was her whole world and she was his.  He was by her side through it all.  Grandfathers may pass but the bond they share will live forever.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, June of Bogata, Texas; daughters, Tammy Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas, Nikki (Jones) Stowers and husband Kyle of Paris, Texas; sons, Johnny Zipper of Dallas, Texas, Shawn Jones and wife Jenn of Dallas, Texas, A.J. Jones and wife Jane of Alpharetta, Georgia; brother, Kenny Jones of Round Rock, Texas; sister, Linda Jones of Dallas, Texas;  Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Ryan, Cameron, Shelby, Zachary, Austin, Jeremy, Renee, Sarah, Harley, Marissa, Lacy, Amber, Maddox, Pierce, Jacob, Bexley and Jamie.  He is proceeded in death by his parents and his daughter Tammy Jones.

A special thank you from the family to Billy Joe Stewart for being not only his right-hand man for 29 years, but also his friend.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Lord is my Shepherd Psalms 23:1-6
