Jimmy Guess

Mr. Jimmy Guess, age 82 of Bogata died Wednesday, March 6 in Regency Healthcare and Rehab in Clarksville Funeral services will be Friday, March 8, 11:00 am in First Baptist Church of Bogata with Rev Don Shovan and Rev Jeff Duvall officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery at Rosalie under direction of Wood Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Gibson, Donnie Hays, Michael Johnson, Jerry House, Jason Morris, Kevin Guess, Michael Willis, and Golden Long. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Roach, Johnny Ragsdill, Buddy Damron, Richard Ward, Eddie Denney, and Carl Williams. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Mr. Guess was born March 10, 1930 in Red River County the son of Herman and Agnes Elson Guess. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bogata where he was a deacon, being ordained in 1983. He was preceded in death by a sister Nina Hays on Jan 4, 2013 and his parents. He is survived by three sisters: Joyce Gibson of Woodland, Mary Jo Porterfield and Betty Sue Watts both of Bogata, six brothers: George Ray, Don, Roger and Gary Guess all of Bogata; Dale Guess of Honey Grove and Herman Guess Jr. of San Antonio.
