Jimmy York Stringfellow, age 65 of Blossom died at his home on Thursday, November 17, 2011, following a battle with cancer .Funeral services will be 2pm Sunday Nov 20 at the Johntown Missionary Baptist Church with Jacob Stringfellow officiating. Burial will be in Bogata Cemetery under direction of Wood Funeral Home of Bogata. The family will receive friends 6-7 pm Saturday at the funeral home. He was born on January 2, 1946 in Deport, Texas, the third son of William Lee and Dixie Nell York Stringfellow. He attended grade schools in Victory, Johntown, Gainesville, Cisco and Bogata High School. He served 2 years in the US Air Force. He married Linda Kay Kennedy on July 30, 1964 in Clarksville, Texas. She died on June 5, 1998 in Dallas. Survivors include 3 sons: Joe Dean Stringfellow and wife, Misty; William Wayne [Billy] Stringfellow and wife, Kathy, and Paul Warren Stringfellow-all of Paris; One daughter, Felina Kay White and husband, Chad of Talco. His mother, Dixie Stringfellow of Bogata; grandchildren, Jimmel, Josh, and Jake Stringfellow; Tyler, Darrin & Brent Higgins; Kaley, Kellen, Kason, and Konner Stringfellow; Jerica White, Lance Tedford and McKenna White; Payton Natalie, Dakota & Levi Stringfellow, Brendon West. One great-grandchild, Jordyn Tedford; Brothers, Wayne Thomas Stringfellow of Naples, Idaho and David Lee Stringfellow of Jasper, Texas; one sister, Vicki Nell Rector Tabb and husband, Dan of Miro, Texas; aunt, Betty York Puckett of Denton; Stepmother, Joyce Stringfellow of New Iberia, Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Ellen Stringfellow of Bagwell and Deborah Stringfellow of Bogata; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by wife, Linda Kay Stringfellow on June 5, 1998; Father William Lee Stringfellow on November 15, 2001, brothers William Ronald Stringfellow on November 4, 2008 and Paul Lee [Buddy] Stringfellow on December 18, 2010
