John William Duke

John William Duke, 72, of Bogata, Texas, passed away September 28, 2023, in Clarksville, Texas.

He was born on July 1, 1951, to Fred and Jean (Miller) Duke in Chicago, Illinois.

John worked for the Wheeling Postal Service in Illinois for eleven years. He also was self-employed as a roofer.

He is survived by his wife, Maryann; son, Raymond (Amber) Duke of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, Sheryl Duke of Chicago, Illinois; brother, Jimmy (Maryann) Duke of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Madeline (Liam) O'neill, Molli, Megan and Myles Duke and one great-grandchild Judah O'neill; step-son Jason. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Dolly and Jane, and his step-daughter Jennifer. 

Visitation will be Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wood-Haggard Funeral Home in Bogata, Texas.

Graveside services will be Monday, October 9, at 10 a.m. at the Bogata Cemetery with Les Jones officiating.
