Johnnie Elmo McLemore

Johnnie Elmo McLemore, Jr., of Commerce, Texas passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 90 years of age.  He was born on May 26, 1930 to Johnnie and Virginia “Virgie” McLemore.

Johnnie honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, following his military career Johnnie returned to Plano, Texas where he worked as an operations manager for Honeywell. He retired after 30 plus years of service.  Over his lifetime, Johnnie served as a deacon and music leader at various churches. He was currently a member of the Waterview Church of Christ.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Bonita “BJ” and Tim Maynard pf Gatesville, Texas, Richard and Dorothy McLemore of Oak Point, Texas, and Gale and Chris Fyke of Commerce, Texas; grandchildren, Nicole Fyke, Richard McLemore, Lauren Matus, Cody Maynard, and Casey Maynard; Great-grandchildren; Jaxson Matus, Aslan Maynard, Rory Maynard, Anakin Maynard, Wyatt Maynard, Claire Maynard, and Hudson Maynard; Brother, Harrell and Lois McLemore of Arlington, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret McLemore, daughter, Jeanne McLemore and his brother, Matthew “Mac” McLemore.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Pavilion in Highland Cemetery, Deport Texas under the direction of Wood-Haggard Funeral Homes – Deport.
