Johnny Wayne Stansell, age 69, of Talco, passed away Friday, January 13th, at UT East Texas Tyler Regional Hospital. He was born to Gordon Darrell and Mildred Elizabeth (Brummet) Stansell.
Johnny was known world wide as a game chicken breeder. He was one of the best in the business with his Gavilan Hatch and Gavilan Grey Hatch roosters. He showed under the banner of the Gavilan Club. The roosters were his true passion in life and most every day you could find Johnny on his chicken farm steadily working.
Johnny absolutely adored and loved his wife Kimberly with all his heart. They were married for 42 years and they spent practically every day together working on the farm. Johnny & Kimberly were a true team. You very seldom saw one with out the other. Johnny loved his family and especially his daughter, Erin, whom he taught at an early age how to feed chickens and play sports. He loved going out to eat every chance he could. He also loved watching golf on tv and keeping up with the Dallas Cowboys. Johnny was a true family man that would do anything he could to make sure his family came first.
