Joyce Gay Huey passed away on May 6, 2024, at her residence in Talco, Texas. She was born on February 26, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas, the daughter of William Thompson and Ardie Louvinia (Davis) Horton. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Joyce leaves behind a loving legacy that will be cherished by her surviving relatives, daughters Pam Noak and Patti Brewer; grandsons, Johnny Roberts Jr. and J.C. King; great-grandchildren, Eyan Roberts, Micheal Clark, Lilliana King, Matthew Clark, Celaste Clark, Lanyce King, Leah King, Dalton King, Analicia Mumma, and Diamond Rocha; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Wayne and Rhonda Horton; nieces, LaJuana Samson, and Crystal Horton; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Huey, and her daughter Regina Huey.
Throughout her life, Joyce worked as a private sitter, dedicating herself to caring for others. Her kindness and compassionate nature left an indelible mark on all those she cared for.
Joyce will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family will receive friends on May 10, 2024, at Wood-Haggard Funeral Home in Bogata, Texas, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The following day, May 11, 2024, a Graveside Service will take place at Talco Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
