Larry G. Garretson age 62 of Bogata died Friday, February 11, 2011 in Hillsboro, Texas. Funeral Services are scheduled for February 15, 2011 in the Cuthand Methodist Church with Reverend John Purviance officiating. Burial will folllow in Cuthand Cemetery with Military Honors and Lindy Guest, Donnie Smith, Kenneth Palmer, Donnie Duffey, Galen Legate, Wayne Garretson andRandy Mayes serving as pallbearers. Mr. Garretson was born February 14, 1948 in Deport, Texas the son of Alvis Stell and Dovie Mayes Garretson. He served in the U S Army from 1969 until 1971 as a Military Policeman. He retired from Texas Utility Mining Company where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his father October 2, 1976. He enjoyed visiting each day with friends at Skaggs Auto Parts in Bogata. His greatest love in addition to his family was hunting and camp life at the Mayes and Brooks hunting camp. He is survived by two daughters, Kellie Cheyanne Garretson and husband Kelly Quinn of Longview and Misty Leigh-Ann Rochelle and husband Kerry of Bynum Texas; four grandchildren, Keaton, Sam , Christopher and Kylie; his mother, Dovie Garretson of Bogata and two brothers, Mike Garretson of Bogata and Rick Garretson of Ft. Worth; two nieces, Kristi Butler of Crowley and Felicia Garretson of Ft. Worth, lots of aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. The family requests memorials be made in Larry's name of Cuthand Cemetery Association, 205 CR 1460 Bogata, Texas 75417or American Heart Association.
