Louise Palmer Young

Louise Palmer Young, a beautiful mother and loving wife, passed away, Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Dogwood Trails Manor Nursing Home in Woodville, Texas. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville. Graveside services were held Sunday, May 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Cuthand Cemetery near Bogota. Visitation was also held on Sunday, May 29th from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Bogata. Louise was born July 4, 1915 to David Aaron & Daisy Madeline Malone Palmer in Alabama. Louise lived a life full of grace with a servant's heart. She and her husband, Samuel V. Young, owned & operated Young Cement Finishing Company in Beaumont, Texas for over 40 years, and raised a family of five children. They retired to Tyler County where they continued to enjoy their family and friends for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Samuel V. Young on September 21, 2004. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, David & Mary Young of Lampassas; daughters & sons-in-law, Sammi & Larry Germer of Austin, Dottie Morrison of Dallas, Becky & Wayne Leggett of Katy and Debbie & Joe Forkner of Lumberton; brother, Thomas E. Palmer of Alabama; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Allan Shivers Library & Museum, 302 N. Charlton St., Woodville, Texas 75979.
