Lucille Beakley Obituary

Lucille Beakley of Johntown, Texas passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 in Paris, Texas at the age of 81 years.  She was born Shirley Lucille Nolen on December 7, 1938 in Cunningham, Texas the youngest of 13 children born to Robert Leonard and Ruthie Bell (Johnson) Nolen.

Lucille was a Christian, and worked as a caregiver. She graduated from Matador High School in Matador, Texas.  At a young age Lucille lost both of her parents leaving her to be raised by her older siblings, who she in turned took care of many in their later life.  She loved her whole family all 5 generations and taking care of her brothers and sisters. Lucille was an avid bowler, traveling to many places to bowl.  She was a huge sports fan and did not mind being tossed out of a game for disagreeing with the referees. She loved her Rivercrest Rebels, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Cowboys, but her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren playing sports. Lucille even coached summer league softball in Johntown.  In her spare time, she would round up a table of 31 or as she referred to it as “Caddy”, watched game shows, and worked her puzzle books. Lucille will be remembered for her giving and loving heart and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debby and Greg Bonham of Owasso, Oklahoma, Carla Strickland of  Johntown, Texas, and James and Jennifer Strickland of DeSoto, Texas; grandchildren, LaTrishia and Quincy English of Bogata, Texas, James and Kelsie O’Brien of Claremore, Oklahoma, Stephanie and Bryan Porter of Norman, Oklahoma, Marcus O’Brien of Owasso, Oklahoma, Ashley Strickland of DeSoto, Texas,  Allie Brewer of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Mallory Bonham of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Kaylen and London Marshall of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 14 Great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marshall Beakley; a daughter, Randi Cawley; and her 5 brothers and 7 sisters.
