LyNell Peek Obituary

Mrs. Lynell Peek, age 68 of Clarksville died Friday Nov 18 in Longview from injuries suffered in a Thursday evening automobile accident in Idabel, Oklahoma. A memorial service and gathering of friends will held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 22 in the Chapel of Regency Healthcare and Rehab Center, 2407 W. Main Street, Clarksville, TX 75426. Mrs. Peek was born March 13, 1943 near Groom, Texas the daughter of Dr John L. and Doris Helen Martin Witt. She married Ben Peek Jan 8, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She taught English at Mesquite High School for several years before getting her degree in nursing home administration. She and her husband purchased the Regency Nursing Home in Clarksville shortly after moving back to Red River County in 1984. She was a former member and officer of Red River General Hospital Board of Directors, and was an active member of the Red River County Democratic Party where she served as chairman for several years. She was a long time active member and officer of The New Century Club of Clarksville. She is survived by her husband Ben of Clarksville, a daughter Shannon Peek of Groom, Texas, a son Brent Peek of Clarksville a grandson Tre' who referred to her as his Nini, and two brothers Dr. Dan Witt of Hoisington, Kansas and Jay Ross Witt of Alto Texas. The family has requested no flowers and wish memorials to be made to New Century Club 1401 S Walnut Street, Clarksville, TX 75426. Thank you dear Lord for everything you've given me.
