Marcus Allums

Mr. Marcus D. Allums, age 78 of Johntown, died Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Clarksville Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 11am, Wednesday, June 27 at the First United Methodist Church in Bogata. Interment will be at Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Mr. Allums was born on July 10, 1933 in Johntown, Texas the son of George and Josie Patton Allums. On December 8, 1956, he married Shirley Watts in Rockwall. He was a retired brick mason and cattleman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Johntown; one son, Monte Allums and wife, Kathy of Johntown; one daughter, Teresa Alford and husband, Ray of Bogata; one sister, Kay Legate and husband, Galen of Bogata; three brothers, Harold Allums of Tyler, Rex Allums of Bogata and Billy Allums and wife, Linda Annn of Big Sandy; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jerry Allums and two sisters-in-laws, Martha Allums and Barbara Allums.
