Mary Lynn Palmer Obituary

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Lynn Palmer, a lifelong resident of Bogata, Texas. Born on March 26, 1964, Mary Lynn was welcomed into Heaven, completely healed and whole, on March 17, 2026. Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in the beautiful legacy of love, compassion, and service she leaves behind.

Mary Lynn lived a life devoted to caring for others—a calling that was both her profession and her passion. She earned her nursing degree from Northeast Texas Community College in 1996 and spent over 20 years serving at Titus Regional Medical Center, primarily in Labor & Delivery and the Women’s Clinic. In 2004, she obtained her Nurse Practitioner license from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. In 2012, she returned home to Bogata to serve her community through the Higgins Clinic, and in 2013, she fulfilled her dream by opening Bogata Health Clinic, her own private practice. As a Nurse Practitioner, she faithfully served her community as a compassionate advocate for her patients, known for her kindness, generosity, and genuine spirit. She offered not only medical care, but also a listening ear, wise advice, and unwavering support. Her work was truly medicine to her heart.

Mary Lynn was vibrant and full of life, known for her infectious smile, bright eyes, beautiful curls, and fiercely loyal heart. She was a devoted, founding member of Bogata Missionary Baptist Church. A seeker of knowledge, she was always learning, always teaching, and continually striving to improve the lives of all she encountered. She found great joy in her family and lifelong friends, in singing, enjoying nature, going to “the Woods,” and simply being present for those she loved. To many, she was more than a provider—she was a trusted friend and a steady source of comfort.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Palmer; her children, Megan Hightower; Adam Horn and wife Brittany; Colby Horn; Andrea Martin and husband A.D.; Kara Baca and husband Brad; and Aaron Palmer; and her cherished grandchildren, Dane, Brinn, Lance, Hudson, Daxon, Avery, Addison, Kherington, Collins, and Blaine.

She is also survived by her brother, Jeff Vaughan; her sister, Laura McCoin and husband Albert; her brothers-in-law, Larry Palmer and Paul Nichols; her sister-in-law Brenda and husband Dan Blackard; as well as many beloved aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mary Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Margaret and Avret Lynn Vaughan, and her niece, Valerie Vaughan.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Mary Lynn’s life will be held at First Baptist Church in Bogata on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, March 20, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the same location.

Mary Lynn will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her compassionate heart, her servant spirit, and the countless lives she impacted. Her legacy of love will continue to live on through all who knew her.
