Maxie Lewis

Mr Maxie Lewis age 87 of Bogata died Sat June 30 in Clarksville Nursing Center Funeral services will be 10 am Tues July 3 at First Baptist Church with Rev Don Shovan officiating. Burial will be in Bogata Cemetery under direction of Wood Funeral Home The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Mr Lewis was born Nov 7,1924 in Red River County the son of George and Rettie Waren Lewis. He married the former Billie Burns Feb 28,1948 in Clarksville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked as a supervisor at Red River Army Depot for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife Billie of Bogata. a son in law Bill Buckman of Bogata, a brother John Lewis and wife Vera of Odessa, his two sisters Maxine Cummings of North Carolina and Hazel Miller of Flint Michigan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his only child Joyce Ann Buckman July 12,2006.
