Micaela Hagood, a beloved mother and friend, peacefully departed this life on February 12, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on March 17, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, Micaela lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and home.
As a proud mother and grandmother, Micaela poured her love and spirit into her children and the nurturing of her household. She will be remembered for her warm smile, boundless generosity, and the unconditional love she extended to her children Beatriz Fisher, Jr. Hagood and his wife, Tammy, Earl Hagood, Mickie Kay Hagood, Cecilia Miser and her husband Curtis, Ernie Ray Hagood and his wife Karen, and Billy Joe Hagood, and to her numerous grand and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Ramon, Francisco, Jesus, Angel, and Jose De La Cruz, and her sister, Connie Berish. Micaela is preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Ramon De La Cruz, husband Earshell Nesbitt Hagood, daughter, Rosa Maria Billings, sister, Petra Alderete, brothers, Augustine and Filomeno De La Cruz and by her great grandson, Kage Tanner Green. Micaela embraced her Hispanic heritage, and her legacy of kindness and resilience will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Micaela spent her later years in Deport, Texas, where she created lasting memories that will resonate through the lives she touched. She lived a life rich with love, laughter, and family gatherings, which will be fondly recalled by all who were fortunate to share those moments with her.
Services will be held in her honor on February 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Wood-Haggard Funeral Home in Bogata, with a public viewing prior to the service at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join together to celebrate the remarkable life of Micaela Hagood, a woman whose spirit will continue to inspire us all.
Micaela will be interred next to her husband Earshell in the Bogata Cemetery where her memory will be enshrined among the blossoms of nature, a testament to the love she nurtured during her lifetime. As we bid farewell, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
