Michail Garretson Obituary

 Michail Reed Garretson, who departed this life on July 10, 2025, just ten days shy of his 76th birthday. He was born on July 20, 1949, in Deport, Texas, Michail lived most of his life in Bogata, Texas, where he was known for his kindness, warmth, and dedication to his craft in the automotive industry.

A proud veteran, Michail served 2 terms in the Navy from June 12, 1968, to June 11, 1974, achieving the rank of EN4. His time in service instilled a strong sense of duty and camaraderie that defined his character and relationships throughout his life.

Michail found his passion in auto repair, where his exceptional skills brought comfort and reliability to countless customers. His craftsmanship and commitment to excellence were evident in every project he undertook. Michail later served his community as Municipal Judge of Bogata and 2 terms as a city counselman. Beyond his professional life, he cherished moments with his family and friends, imparting wisdom and love to those around him.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Garretson. Michail's spirit will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Michail was preceded in death by his parents: Dovie and Alvis Garretson, and by his brother, Larry Garretson.

In his own words, he expressed, "I just want everyone to know I am with God in a wonderful place. I will miss you and I love you all very much." These words reflect a life that was lived in love and faith, reminding us of the importance of connection and the joy of cherished memories.

As we say goodbye to Michail, let us carry forward his legacy of kindness, love, and dedication to family and community. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
