Novell {Dodd} King

Mrs. Novell Dodd King, age 85 of Denton and formerly of Bogata, died in Denton, December 6, 2011. Funeral Services have been scheduled for Saturday, December 10 at 2:00pm in the First Baptist Church of Bogata with the Reverend Donnie Sherrill officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the church prior to services. Burial will follow in Bogata Cemetery. She was born on February 11, 1926 in Red River County, the daughter of Wayne Napoleon and Irene Darnell Wood. She married Edward [Ed] King in Rockwall, Texas in 1943. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2001. She was also preceded in death bye a great-granddaughter, Zoe Nicole King on November 30, 2001 and a grandson, Jarrod King in October 2010. Mrs. King was a Division Manager for Sears 17 years prior to her retirement. She is survived by three sons: James King and wife, Janet of Overton; Harold King and wife, Shantai of Denton; Richard King and wife, Debi of Katy; 8 grandchildren; number of great-grandchildren; W .T. [Bill] Dodd, S E Dodd and Grady Dodd all of Johntown and sisters Ruth Whitten of Johntown and Faye Horn of Mineola; numerous nieces and nephews
