O.R. [Rab} Skidmore

Mr. O.R [Rab] Skidmore went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 29, 2018.  Services will be held on Tuesday, October 2, at 6:00 pm in Faith Baptist Church with Dr. L.C. Stout and Bro Ricky Logan officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.

Rab was born to Ruse and Beulah Skidmore on March 29, 1933, in Taylortown.  He married Margie Juanita Powers on may 21, 1955 in Minter.  They were married 40 wonderful years until Margie’s death on April 23, 1995.  Together, they had three sons:  Randy, Britt, and Timothy.  Rab later married Wilozine Early.  They enjoyed twelve years together before her passing on May 2, 2016.

Rab loved riding and training horses which led to making many friends through the years.  But even more, he loved to sing of his Savior, Jesus Christ.  He also enjoyed giving a bible verse card to anyone that he met.  His desire was to share the gospel with everyone he that he encountered.

Rab was also preceded in death by a son, Britt Skidmore; brothers, Perry, Harley, Johnny, Gene, and Joe; sisters, Elsie Gordan, Faye Ausmus, Irene Oldham, and Glenna Scott.

Rab is survived by two sons and daughters in law;  Randy and Pati Skidmore, and Timothy and Tina Skidmore; two stepdaughters, Joe Marie Jones and husband, Tim, and  Lee Ann Beyersdorf and husband, Mike; grandchildren,  Ryan Skidmore and wife Christie, Aaron Skidmore and wife, Kasey, Tracey Jones and wife, Susan, Tim Jones and wife Rochelle, and Emily Secrest and husband, Kyle; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Nicholas, Natali, and Anniston Skidmore, Lainy and  Libby Jones, and Kade and Kaleb Secrest; one sister, Lorene Hatcher.
