A memorial service will be held for Patsy Kuykendall Williams on Saturday, January 13th, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Wood-Haggard Funeral Home in Deport, TX. She passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Medical City Lewisville in Lewisville, TX at the age of 88.
Patsy was born in Whitesboro, TX on December 28, 1935, and moved with her parents Aubrey and Sibyl Barber to Marietta in 1937. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1953. Patsy received bachelor's and master's degrees from North Texas State University in Denton, TX. She married Norman G. Kuykendall in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1981. She married Gary C. Williams in 1989 and he preceded her in death in 1990.
Patsy taught elementary education for twenty-five years, of which the last fourteen were at Marietta Elementary School.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey S. and Sibyl L. Barber; brothers, Richard D. Barber, Paul W. Barber; sister, Peggy J. Phillips; and son, Kerry N. Kuykendall.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in law, Brent Grady and Susann Kuykendall of Lewisville and Karl Ivy and Kimberly Kuykendall of Leonard, TX; sister, Debra Murray of Marietta; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, The Retired Educators Association, the Gideons Association of Ardmore, and an auxiliary member of the Retired Military Officers Association.
