Rev. Charles Glynn Renfro, age 87 of Deport died Thursday May 19 in Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 3pm Sunday May 22 at First Baptist Church of Deport with Dr L.C. Stout, Reverend Roger Scaff and Reverend Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under direction of Wood Funeral Homes of Deport. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church fellowship hall. Rev Renfro was born Sept 29, 1923 in Josephine, Texas the son of Otis and Carrie Shipp Renfro. He married the former Dorothy Rucker May 30, 1943 in Josephine. He was a farmer and retired Baptist minister having preached for 70 years serving churches in Greenfield and Canton Oklahoma, Deport, New Deal, Blossom, Talco, Hagansport, Cunningham and Pattonville, Texas and served as supply minister for many churches in the northeast Texas area. He was a mason for over 60 years and was a member of Deport Lodge # 381 A.F. and A.M. He is survived by his wife Dorothy , his daughter Glenda Ruffin and husband Charles all of Deport, a daughter in law Jane Renfro of Greenville, four grandchildren, Eddie Loven, Edie Leija, Libby Wrather and Lane Renfro, seven great grandsons Tanner, Jacob, Brayden, Austin, Madison, Mason and Max, a sister Carrie Bell of Dallas and a brother Robert Renfro of the Metroplex area. He was preceded in death by a son Dr Bobby Renfro on Dec 29, 2008 The family has requested memorials to National Kidney foundation, American Cancer Society or any church in Northeast Texas in Bro.
