Harold Richard Stansell, age 85, of Talco, passed away Friday, January 6th at Titus Regional Medical Center. He was born to Gordon Darrell and Mildred Elizabeth (Brummet) Stansell.
Richard, also known as sweetie pie, was a ray of sunshine to all that knew him. He left a legacy that will never be forgotten, with his positive spirit, sweet words, and the heart of a child. His innocence and kindness were noticed by all. He was a song writer and a singer in his younger days. He loved the words to music, and he loved playing the drums in high school and the guitar as an adult.
In Richard’s younger years he had his own business called Industrial Transport where he worked in the oil field doing various tasks. In later years he ran the Talco feed store and took great pride in making the best snow cones around. At the age of 82, in August of 2019, our beloved sweetie pie began attending church and was a member of the Talco Church of Christ where he was also baptized in December of 2019. He loved his church family and looked forward to every Sunday very much.
Richard was a man of integrity and a true class act. He was one in a million, and if you ever had the privilege to talk with him you left knowing that you had received a blessing.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are brothers, Handy and Sue Stansell of Mount Pleasant, Texas, and Johnny and Kimberly Stansell of Talco, Texas; sister-in-law, Pat Stansell of Mississippi; nieces, Erin Stansell, Debbie Ingram, Amy Stansell, Mandy Stansell, Kristie and Wayne Anderson; nephews, Kip and Kelly Stansell, and David and Robyn Stansell; great-niece, Roan Ingram.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Talco Church of Christ. Interment will follow at the Talco Cemetery under the direction of Wood-Haggard Funeral Home, Bogata.
