Roland Dean Burson, born August 27, 1941, in Odessa, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love, and devotion to his family.
Roland was a skilled painter by trade, known for his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in everything he did. He spent his life working with his hands and providing for those he loved, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Above all, Roland was a family man. He is survived by his daughters: Debbie Burson and Sammy of Carrollton, Texas; Beverly and Tim Taylor of Mount Pleasant, Texas; and Sabrina and Ricky Willingham of Gage, Oklahoma; and his son, Dean and April Burson of Florida.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Andrea Barton of Carrollton, Texas; Joey and Wendy Taylor of Mount Pleasant, Texas; Misti and Jeff Ellis of Lexington, South Carolina; Justin and Maricyn Tucker of California; Christian Burson, Cruz Burson, and Cooper Burson of Florida, along with many great-grandchildren.
Roland had a special place in his heart for Magan and Aubree, whom he took under his wing, as well as their families, who became a part of our extended family.
He is survived by his sister, Ann Golden, along with many nieces and nephews.
A time of reflection will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday, April, 22, 2026 at the Wood~Haggard Funeral Home Chapel.
Roland will be remembered for his quiet strength, his dedication to his craft, and the love he gave so freely to his family. May his legacy live on.
He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
