Obituary
Ruth Virginia Murray passed away in the early morning hours on January 29, 2022, just two weeks after her 92nd birthday. She was born in Red River County on January 15, 1930, to Frank and Dovie (Wooten) Jackson.
Ruth graduated from Clarksville High School in 1947 and went on to University Beauty School in Dallas in 1948. On January 15, 1949, she married Perry Murray and to this union 2 sons were born. Ruth was a faithful member of the Aikin Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She also served as past matron of the Easter Star and Rebekah’s.
She leaves her two sons, Perry Richard Murray, and Marvin Mitchell Murray all of Clarksville, Texas; one grandson, Matthew Michael Murray of San Antonio, Texas; daughter-in-law Margie Murrey of San Antonio, Texas; her sister, Billie Capps of Eldorado, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Faye Fox, and Ida Lou Jackson.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Brewster Cemetery in Red River County. Pastor James Brown will officiate.
The family request that memorials be made to Christus St. Michael Hospital, 2600 St. Michael Drive, Texarkana, Texas 75503.
