Sylvia Sue Moore, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this world on February 17, 2026, in Paris, Texas, at the age of 87. Born on November 4, 1938, in Red River County, Texas, Sylvia dedicated her life to her family and her home.
As a devoted homemaker, Sylvia poured her love and warmth into nurturing her loved ones. She will be remembered for her unwavering support, kindness, and the many joyful moments she shared with her family and friends. Sylvia's family, which includes her loving son Gerald Moore, daughter Sonya Sparkman, son Bradley and his wife Jacqueline Moore, and son-in-law Mike Needham will carry her legacy forward.
Sylvia's life was rich with the laughter of her grandchildren: Nikki Hammonds, Casey Hammonds (Godwin), Jeremy Moore, Joshua Moore, Jonathan Moore, James Moore, Jake Needham, Kirby Needham and Caleb Moore, as well as the joy of her great-grandchildren: Blaine Scott, Abigail Scott, Mason Scott, Roan Clark, Billy Godwin, Rafe Godwin, Qwade Godwin, Harper Moore, Lincoln Moore, Sawyer Moore, Parker Moore, Paxton Moore, Indie Needham, Miles Needham, Griffin Needham, Julien Isome, Kameron Isome, Kori Needham, and Quinton Hammonds. Her warmth will be cherished by all those she touched throughout her life.
Sylvia is also survived by her beloved brother Donnie Kennedy, brother-in-law Don McIntosh, sister-in-law Jane Belcher, sister-in-law Marilyn Naas, niece Kathie Thompson, and nephew Bobby Thompson as well as a host of other numerous nieces and nephews.
Sylvia was preceded in death by: her parents, Bery Bean and Lorene Bean Kennedy step-father Bill Kennedy, her husband Hollis Moore, daughter Deborah Moore-Kelley, son Michael (Mikey) Moore, sons-in-law Billy Wayne Hammonds and Bruce Sparkman, granddaughter Billi Ann Scott, sister and brother-in-law Brenda and Wayne Morris, sisters-in-law Linda Kennedy and Carolyn McIntosh, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Evelyn and Richard Eudy, Barbara and Dean Freeman, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dadie and June Moore, brothers-in-law Donnie Moore, Hulen Moore, Nolan Belcher.
In honor of her life, visitation will be held on February 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Bogata. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate the life of Sylvia as they pay their respects. Sylvia Sue Moore will be laid to rest at the Bogata Cemetery at a private family ceremony.
The family wishes to thank Chambers Hospice for the excellent care provided to Sylvia, and especially to the excellent nursing staff at Paris Regional Medical Center on the west wing of the fifth floor.
